Kulki (Cape Tribulation) Beach is the most famous beach on the Daintree Coast. Arguably one of the most bio-diverse beaches in Australia, it is lined on one side by dense tropical rainforest, and fringing reef on the other.
As you enter the beach, to the left you can explore the fringing reef at low tide. To the right you can see Cape Tribulation, famously named by Captain James Cook in 1770 of which he wrote —‘here began all our troubles’!
Walking along the beach to the right, stop to admire the magnificent Beach Mahogany trees and mangrove communities towards the end of the beach. From here you can join the walking path to Kulki Lookout offering panoramic views over Kulki / Cape Tribulation beach and rainforest clad mountains across to the Coral Sea. The Kulki Lookout Boardwalk is 600m return, allow 10 minutes walking time.
There is parking available at the entrance to the beach along with a picnic day-use area and public toilets.
Remember to be croc wise in croc country and stinger season is from November to April.
