FREE Community Event
Echoes of the Daintree is a free community concert on Saturday 28 November, 3pm–6pm, at the Alexandra Bay Sports Club.
> Two cellists from Brisbane who sometimes play with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra will be performing. They'll play a mix of contemporary pieces and classics.
> We also have a Harpist from Port Douglas performing, and Charlie Chaplain Mime for the children.
> The aim is to give residents a free afternoon of live music in the rainforest after the recent floods, when many were cut off.
> The event is open to everyone, travellers and residents.
Funding
The concert is supported by the North Queensland Resilience Program's Community Resilience Arts and Wellbeing Fund. That fund is paid for by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements, and Douglas Shire Council runs it.
