Daintree Coast Community Shed
Daintree Coast Community Shed was founded in September 2020 and is registered with the Australian Men shed association.
Meetings are held on the 4th Sunday of each month in 10 Wattle Close at 4 pm and everyone is welcome to attend. Minutes are emailed to members.
The idea is to provide a meeting place for men and women in an alcohol-free environment with the options to join workshops or any activity as it develops in the future.
The yearly member ship is $36.00 which covers volunteers during fund raising activities and later in the shed itself. A shed has been bought already last year and is to be assembled once council has given the building approval. This is a longer process than we had anticipated.
The build will happen next year in Tea Tree Road where the other community buildings are.
A number of donations have already been made in money and equipment.
Other equipment has been bought to make the regular fund-raising BBQs possible which have been very successful.
A bake sale at Rainforest Village every 2. Month is a new initiative.
