Cow Bay Primary Health Clinic
- The Cow Bay Primary Health clinic is a remote facility supporting all residents and visitors to the Daintree Coast area.
- The clinic is run by a full time Director of Nursing (DON), Monday to Fridays from 08:30- 16:30. Closed for all Public holidays.
- Ring for an appointment before you attend the clinic as there is only a sole practitioner and she might be away attending an Emergency, Home visit or Mossman Hospital.
- The clinic has no weekend or out of hours service except if Queensland Ambulance service requires support.
- Everyone must ring 000 for all emergencies. During business hours also leave a message at the clinic, so they can follow up with you.
- If there is an emergency after 12mn always ring 000 as the ferry will open for all emergency services at no cost to you.
- We have a visiting Senior Medical Officer/Doctor from Mossman MPHS attends our Clinic weekly on a Thursday. This is a busy Medicare bulk billing clinic & everyone needs to make an appointment to attend.
- Every Wednesday Mental Health Social worker visits the clinic and attends home visits.
- A new Physiotherapist to commence soon.
- Home care supports available.
- New Administration officer 2 days a week to support DON and Medicare 19.2 billing.
- A new purpose-Built Health Clinic is proposed further down this same road. Estimated to commence building in early 2023 and hopefully open at the end of 2024.
- Friends of the Foundation Cow Bay is our Charity group who hold 3 major fundraising events each year in support of our Remote clinic.
- This clinic coordinates the Cyclone procedures for this area. Make sure you are registered at the clinic and inform neighbours/ friends if you are remaining in your house for a Cyclone event.
- The clinic is your advocate in all Government committees and will support the Daintree Coast to achieve their best outcomes.
