The second public beach heading north from the Daintree Ferry, Cow Bay beach is a stunning tropical beach around 800 metres long.
Enjoy walking along the white sandy beach which is ever-changing with tides and weather.
Here the sand shimmers in the sun, the water gently laps the shore and there are interesting rock formations to explore.
Walking north on a low tide, you can walk past the rocks onto two smaller, more secluded bays. Keep an eye out for small scuttering crabs and tiny fish in the rock pools.
You won’t have to fight through crowds of people at Cow bay Beach. It’s very rare to find the beach busy and quite often there’s only a few people, or you may have the entire beach to yourselves!
To get to Cow Bay beach, turn right off Cape Tribulation Road just after the pub and Floravilla Ice Cream onto Buchanan Creek Road. Keep going for about 6 km and you’re there.
There is parking available at the entrance to the beach along with a public toilet and covered picnic tables.
